Caused by inhalation of dense smoke usually experienced in domestic fires. The smoke is {toxic} because of waste products produced by burning plastic & household furniture. The smoke has a very irritating effect on cells of {lungs} & causes an outpouring of fluid into the {bronchial tree}, effectively causing obstruction & {asphyxia}.
TREATMENT: Remove from smoke, check respirations & {pulse}, transfer patient to hospital urgently.
